Kailin Wang
Founder & President (Executive Director)
Kailin has a Ph.D. degree in Psychology, an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas at Austin, and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tsing-Hua Univeristy in Taiwan. Kailin is an interesting blend of a hi-tech engineer, a business entrepreneur, a personality psychologist, a career coach, a motivational speaker, a people organizer, a writer, a poet, a dancer, a cello player, a bookworm, a stargazer, and a philosophical thinker.
Hungchi Chen
Treasurer
Hungchi received his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He started learning andĀ playing violin since a child. His small group performance experience opens the door for him to expand to playing viola and form a family trio along with his children. His passion about music also grows into composition and arrangement. Hungchi has been actively involved in the church worship team as well as gospel events as a violin player with the gift of improvisation.
Leonard Chen
Secretary
Leonard is a cardiologist specialized in arrhythmia, currently practicing in Kaiser Permanente Hospital as a medical doctor. He graduated from Taipei Medical University and then received his Ph.D. degree from Yale University. With his interest in music and influence fromĀ his previous training in Chinese traditional musical instrument, he started learning and playing cello at age of 40. To him, music and medicine are complimentary in many aspects.

Xiaoming He
Conductor &
Musical Director
Xiaoming is a sought-after musical conductor and composer in the San Francisco Bay Area Chinese community. He graduated from Wu-han Conservatory of Music in China, then studied musical conducting and composition and earned his Master's degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, UK. He has appeared in many major concerts as the conductor in the Bay Area. Before coming to the US, he worked as a musical director in a major TV company in China. Currently he takes up the musical director position of Silicon Valley Youth Symphony.
Jennifer Chou

Leading Musician
Jennifer received her master's degree in cello performance at UT Austin and bachelor's at Taipei National University of Fine Arts. She has been teaching cello since 2000 at her private studio and also teaches music and cello at German International School in Silicon Valley. She is the master coach for string section of Silicon Valley Youth Orchestra.
Yanyan Shi
Leading Musician &
First Chair
Yanyan received her master's degree in violin performance at Western Michigan University and bachelor's degree at Renmin University of China in Beijing. She has been teaching violin at Joyful Melodies Music School in Cupertino since 2010. She is an active member of MTAC (Music Teachers Association of California) and CMTANC (Chinese Music Teachers Association of Northern California).
